President: Paul Hilton
Dr Paul Hilton is Technology Manager at TWI, where he has responsibility for the strategic development of laser materials processing. As such he has been instrumental in the setting up and management of several European collaborative research projects involving applications of CO2, Nd:YAG, CO, diode and more recently, fibre lasers. Before joining TWI in 1992, he worked in the laser systems industry at Control Laser and Integrated Laser Systems. Before that, he worked for Oxford Instruments.
Vice-President: Martin Sharp
Dr Martin Sharp is an industrialist turned academic. haing joined the General Engineering research Institute (GERI) at Liverpool John Moores Univeristy and currently setting up a "Photonics in Engineering" research group. Martin formerly was at the Lairdside Laser Engineering Centre.

Executive Secretary: Mike Green
Mike has had a long research career in lasers, starting in 1969, working mainly on gas lasers, wavelength tunable lasers and beam propagation. After many years at AEA Technology he left in 1991 to found Pro Laser, providing consultancy on laser applications, projects and safety. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
There are a maximum twelve Ordinary Members on the Committee and 6 Co-opted members. Each serves a period of three years. Each year at the AGM in April we aim to have four Ordinary Member positions available for election.
