Newport Announces Three New Fiber-Coupled Diode Laser Solutions

Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division introduces three new ProLite® Xt fiber-coupled diode laser products, all of which are based on the company's proprietary advancements in bar design, mini-bar design and beam shaping technology. The ProLite Xt High Brightness Corvus™ Fiber-Coupled Arrays, the ProLite Xt High Brightness Orion™ Fiber-Coupled Mini-Bar, and the new ProLite Xt Prosario™ laser platform will be unveiled at Newport's Booth # 817 at SPIE Photonics West, January, 27-29 in San Jose, CA.

The ProLite Xt Corvus lasers' innovative new fiber-coupled array design offers expanded power up to 575 W, complementing the existing Corvus single-bar products and providing customers with a comprehensive selection of power ranges and fiber diameters. The ProLite Xt Corvus lasers offer high brightness output of 35 W to 575 W from various fiber diameters, 100 microns to 400 microns. The Corvus laser's robust packaging and industrial grade cooling are uniquely suited for demanding applications that require exceptional performance at wavelengths from 790 nm to 980 nm.

The ProLite Xt Orion diode laser is now available with upgraded output power up to 25W at 915, 940 and 976 nm wavelengths and 15W from 808 and 810 nm wavelengths. The Orion fiber-coupled mini-bar features a compact, user-friendly platform that is easy to integrate into a wide variety of laser systems.

The new Prolite Xt Prosario™ features output powers up to 60W with a wavelength range of 790 nm to 980 nm. The Prosario laser platform is configurable with fiber diameters ranging from 400 microns to 800 microns and NA from 0.11 to 0.22. Compact and robust, the new design is ideal for drop-in replacement for existing systems, permitting flexibility in the output power in your current system. The optional aiming beam, detachable fiber, and electrical isolation makes the new product suitable for many applications, including solid-state laser pumping, direct diode material processing, medical systems, and life and health sciences.

"Spectra-Physics' new diode lasers add design enhancements to the ProLite Xt products, leading the advancements in reliable, single-emitter, mini-bar and bar technology. ProLite Xt products leverage a long list of innovations in materials, device design, and process refinement, resulting in one of the most extensive product offerings of high brightness, fiber-coupled diodes available in the industry," said Michael Atchley, Sr. Manager of Product Marketing for Newport's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division.
