The Subcon exhibition continues its impressive growth, with stand sales up 20% on this time last year. 2009 was already a record year for the show – the UK’s only event dedicated to subcontract manufacturing services – with 285 exhibitors and visitor numbers up 30%.
This year’s event, which runs from 8 to 10 June at the NEC, Birmingham, looks like being even more successful. Its exhibitors cover all aspects of mechanical and electronic manufacture, from machined parts, electronic assemblies, castings, plastic mouldings and metal fabrications, through to full manufacturing services, design and build, and rapid prototyping.
The value of the show to exhibitors is underlined by the views of both new and returning companies. Last year, 60% of visitors said they had come specifically to look for new suppliers. Of these, 94% were looking for UK subcontractors, with 35% also looking for overseas suppliers.
