Laser Optical Engineering is a spin out company from Loughborough University. The company offers:
1. Diffractive Optical Elements (Kinoforms). These are computer generated, tailor made elements that transform laser beam energy profiles into ideal shapes that the user or use requires. Experience in both thermal modelling and diffractive manufacture ensures ideal profiles for any task - surface hardening, welding, cutting, drilling, or ablating. Elements are available for infrared lasers. Kinoforms are also available which can sample a small portion of the laser beam enabling on-line monitoring of beam shape and power even for high power lasers.
2. Laser Metrology. The company produces strain measurement equipment used in non destructive testing of laminates and advises on one-off laser measurement applications.
3. Laser Safety Guidance. With much experience providing Laser Safety advice at the highest levels the company is able to advise on, or produce safety documentation and training. It also carries out tests to classify lasers and LEDs for other manufacturers.
