SUMMARY:12th CIRP Conference on Photonic Technologies (LANE 2022)
DESCRIPTION:September 04-08\, 2022 in Fürth\, Germany \nModern research has to act on social\, economic and environmental developments to provide solutions for the existing and upcoming global challenges. For this reason\, LANE offers a platform for an international exchange of ideas\, opinions\, perspectives\, results and solutions concerning photonic technologies. In order to give a detailed overview\, the conference aims not only at scientific contributions\, but integrates the industrial perspective and their relevance for application as well. \nResearchers and developers from science and industry\, who gained interesting results in the field of laser material processing\, are welcome to submit an abstract for LANE 2022. After a virtual edition of LANE last year\, the organisers are looking forward to holding an on-site conference again in Fürth\, Germany\, and cordially invite all members of AILU to participate in the conference. \nThere will be a general discount of 10 % on the conference fees for AILU members. \nContributions will be reviewed by an international review committee. If finally accepted\, scientific papers will be published online in Elsevier’s open access journal Procedia CIRP on ScienceDirect (indexed in the Ei Compendex and Scopus databases). The current CiteScore of Procedia CIRP is 3.3. Application-oriented industrial papers will be published freely accessible and without limitations on the LANE website. During the LANE conference all accepted contributions will be presented personally by the authors. \nFor detailed information on submission and registration\, please visit the conference website www.lane-conference.org

SUMMARY:LASYS 2022: 21-23 June 2022
DESCRIPTION:LASYS 2022: Innovative strength in laser material processing\n  \nAILU Members have free entry to the show  – Contact Us for details. \n  \nKey to markets: easy transport access to LASYS \nLocated at Stuttgart’s trade fair grounds\, LASYS is hosted from a strong economic region right at the heart of Europe. As a result of this and its ideal connections to the airport\, motorway and local public suburban train and light rail network\, LASYS welcomes a trade audience from Europe’s core market. With its keen focus on the DACH region of Germany\, Austria and Switzerland\, as well as on neighbouring countries such as the Netherlands\, France and Italy\, this year’s LASYS international trade fair boasts easy transport access. Trade visitors will primarily be attending from the mechanical engineering\, plant construction\, automobile construction and optical industries. \nPlanning for the high-level accompanying programme in full swing \nVisitors and exhibitors at LASYS will also benefit from the chance to share knowledge at the Stuttgart Laser Days (SLT) which will be bringing together researchers\, developers and users in one congress on 21 and 22 June. Together with LASYS\, the two events represent an attractive opportunity for all participants to engage in conversation and discuss highlights and innovations. The SLT are organised by the IFSW institute for laser technology at the University of Stuttgart. The IFSW pursues a holistic research approach ranging from laser beam sources to application in manufacturing processes. The SLT have been held in close cooperation with LASYS since 2008. Alongside the SLT\, the technical forum “Lasers in Action” runs three days of practice-based lectures live in the exhibition hall. \nLASYS returns after a four-year break \nThis year\, LASYS is being held at the Messe Stuttgart grounds in hall 4. Laser systems\, services\, methods and materials – LASYS showcases the entire range of applications for lasers in material processing. By focusing its content in this way\, this industry meeting point has developed continuously over past events. “We are delighted to be back with LASYS after this long break and to build on what we achieved at the last event together with the industry\,” says Gunnar Mey\, Department Manager of Exhibitions & Events. “At the same time\, we are continuing to develop LASYS so we can keep offering a platform for the latest trends and innovations in laser material processing.” \nFor more information on LASYS in Stuttgart\, please visit: http://www.lasys-messe.com/ \nContact: Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH \n+49 711 18560-0 \ninfo(at)messe-stuttgart.de \n

SUMMARY:How to use Lasers and Digital Twins to Accelerate EV Manufacturing
DESCRIPTION:About this event \nLarge scale electrification of transport represents one of the biggest disruptive technologies in decades. In this scenario\, laser beam welding is a key tool for manufacturing of e-vehicles. This one-day event reviews some of the most established and ground-breaking novel laser concepts and beam delivery systems\, sensor technologies and closed-loop control strategies for laser beam welding. The event will also discuss current challenges and future perspectives towards the full digitalisation of laser beam welding\, in line with the current trend of Industry 4.0. \nOur agenda includes high-profile speakers from funding agencies (UKRI/APC UK)\, machine vendors (Coherent\, Lumentum\, Precitec) and end-users from both automotive and aerospace industry (Constellium\, JLR)\, together with software engineering specialists (Flow3D) and WMG researchers. A round-table discussion will be facilitated to establish a better vision of the future and define industrial needs and priorities. \n  \nHighlights \n\nDiscuss the industrial perspectives for the design of battery systems and e-motors\nLearn about up-coming breakthroughs in laser beam welding\nDemystify digital twins\nLearn from industrial success stories and use cases\n\n  \nWho should attend: \nThis event is suitable for industry practitioners (those involved in the supply chain for electric vehicles and OEMs) and Researchers. \n  \nFind out more at https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/wmg/mediacentre/events/laserwelding/
