SUMMARY:E-Mobility Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n \n  \nIntroduction\nWorkshop Chair:  \nPaola de Bono (TWI Ltd) \nThe world of transport is undergoing the biggest change since the early 20th Century\, focusing on a rapid move towards electric vehicle (EV) production and the parallel reduction in petrol-powered vehicles. Highly demanding new emissions targets have been set by Government policy\, aiming to meet net-zero emissions by 2050. \nAdvancements to e-mobility technologies have been made\, however\, before we can reach the point where electrification becomes the norm\, there are a number of challenges for industry to overcome. These include light-weighting of components\, process improvements\, welding developments\, real-time quality assurance in-production\, safety\, flexible tools and jigs\, and prototyping from components through complete vehicles. \nLaser technology has been adopted by the automotive sector\, principally for its ability to perform high-quality and high-precision processing at high speed\, and at low relative cost. In recent years several advancements have been made in laser technology which have the potential of making an important contribution\, and thus\, supporting the breakthrough of e-mobility. \nThis workshop will include presentations from equipment-providers\, end-users\, academic and industrial researchers in the e-mobility field. You will hear and see how the latest developments in laser technology as well as academic and industrial research are supporting the e-mobility agenda. A forum will be created in this e-mobility workshop\, encouraging new thinking and industrially viable practical solutions. \n  \nProgramme\nWednesday 8 July \nSession 1 – 13.30 – 14:55 (Sponsored by Air Products)  \n13:30 Introduction – Paola De Bono\, TWI UK \n13:40 Battery welding applications in e-mobility – Alexander Olowinsky\, Fraunhofer ILT Germany  \n14:00 Laser welding at TWI supporting the e-mobility agenda – Chris Allen\, TWI UK \n14:20 Laser technology for the automotive industry – Yannick Galais\, Luxinar  \n14:40 Discussion \n14:55 – 15:15 Break \n  \nSession 2 – 15:15 – 16:35 (Sponsored by Nuburu)  \n15:15 Welcome \n15:20 Blue laser welding in e-mobility – Richard Gleeson\, Nuburu UK  \n15:40 Laser joining of dissimilar metals – Jack Gabzdyl\, SPI Lasers\, UK \n16:00 AI-Aided automation for Electrification– Giovanni Di Stefano\, Comau\, Italy \n16:20 Discussion \n16:35 Close \n  \nThursday 9 July Session 3 – 9.30 – 11.00 (Sponsored by Coherent)  \n9.30 Welcome \n9:35 – New applications for blue diode lasers in the power range 500 to 2 kW – Andre Eltze\, Laserline Germany \n9:55 – 5G enabling Industry 4.0 – Chris White\, Ford & Chris Allen\, Vodafone \n10:25 – Advances in copper and multi material welding using fibre lasers – Thomas Hofmeister\, Coherent  \n10:45 Discussion \n11.00 – 11.20 Break \n  \nThursday 9 July Session 4 – 11.20 – 12.40 (Sponsored by Precitec)  \n11.20 Welcome \n11.25 Ensuring weld traceability during e-mobility applications – Markus Kogel-Hollacher\, Precitec  \n11.45 Solving challenges in e-mobility with fibre lasers – Mark Thompson\, IPG Photonics  \n12.05 How joining process innovations can solve challenges for future electric vehicle body architectures – Sullivan Smith\, TWI UK  \n12.25 Discussion \n12.40 Close \n  \nVenue\nOnline \nRegistration\nAILU Member fees:\nComplete Webinar (all sessions 8th and 9th July)  60 GBP\nSessions 1 & 2 (8th July)  40 GBP\nSessions 3 & 4 (9th July)  40 GBP \nNon Member fees\nComplete Webinar (all sessions 8th and 9th July)  90 GBP\nSessions 1 & 2 (8th July)  60 GBP\nSessions 3 & 4 (9th July)  60 GBP \nAbove fees exclude VAT @ 20% \n \n  \nFee includes access to webinar videos after the event. \nFor more information please email or phone the AILU office (+44 (0)1235 539595). \n  \nAILU EVENT T&Cs\nSee AILU Event Terms and Conditions here.\n____________________________________\nBy registering for this meeting you agree that you are happy for AILU and Sponsors to contact you after the event \n
