AILU’s Annual Job Shop Business Meeting

Introduction

AILU’s active Job Shop Community represents over 150 UK laser subcontractors offering laser material processing as a service.

If you haven’t been before, these meetings are “laser focused” on delivering high value content to our members and non-members in this sector.

With electricity price fluctuations still showing high volatility, AILU is pleased to present the results of our members voluntary (and anonymised) electricity price survey.

If you are facing challenges as a Job Shop owner or manager, this meeting is the right place for you. Take-aways from this meeting will include opportunities to enhance or diversify to grow your business, including:

Enhanced laser cutting:

  • Explore Higher Power Fibre Laser Systems
  • Learn the Benefits of Gas Mixing
  • Opportunities in Non-Metal Cutting

Emerging laser processes:

  • Handheld Laser Welders (Better & Faster than TIG)
  • Manual Laser Cleaning

New Technology

  • Find Out the Latest from Suppliers in the Sector
  • Participate in the Discussion Forum

AILU’s Early Career Researchers Seminar

Introduction

Founded in 2017, AILU’s Early Career Researchers (ECRs) Group represents the next generation of laser industry and academic professionals. The Group, operating as a committee with an elected Chair and Secretary, is spread across research centres and industrial manufacturers both in the UK and Europe.

On Wednesday 6th December the Group will host a morning seminar followed by a tour of the new Advanced Manufacturing Group facilities at the University of Manchester. The members of the Committee will give short presentations highlighting the current focus of their research or application area.

The seminar is open to AILU members and non-members and would be of interest to those who might join this group or would benefit from networking with this enthusiastic and talented pool of individuals.
