AMADA’s inaugural European welding event a success

AMADA has announced the highly successful conclusion of its first-ever European Welding Event, a landmark occasion that brought together almost 300 customers from across Europe at the unique Welding Technical Center (WTC) in Italy.

The event hosted visitors from 163 companies and served as a critical milestone in AMADA’s welding market expansion strategy.

A key theme was the presentation of “total solutions,” which showcased how AMADA’s software, blanking, bending, and welding technologies integrate to optimize the final welded product. This sheetmetal initiative highlighted seamless collaboration between the company’s various European entities, as AMADA Machinery Europe and AMADA Weldtech were also present to showcase some of the other AMADA Group solutions.

With the increasing difficulty of recruiting skilled workers across the industry, automation was a focus of the entire event. Fully automated blanking machines including part removers, robotic bending cells with automatic tool changers and robotic welding systems with AI-functionality all highlighted AMADA’s leadership in solving this issue, as well as providing ease-of-use across the range to assist lower skilled workers become more efficient.

Customers were able to watch two components through the entire process flow starting with AMADA’s VPSS 4ie software suite, through the blanking process with the EML-AJe punch/fibre laser combination machine and VENTIS fibre laser (both fully automated), onto the bending process, highlighting the EGB-ATCe fully electric press brake with Auto Tool Changer and a fully automatic robotic bending cell, and finally to the welding area where the FLW-Le and FLW-ENSISe robotic fibre laser welding systems were used to complete the parts.

Both the FLW systems feature AMADA’s original beam weaving technology to consistently weld larger gaps with very high quality results that often do not require any post processing, especially important for segments such as the HoReCa and medical markets. The FLW-ENSISe systems also integrate AMADA’s unique ENSIS beam shaping technology to provide high quality results on parts that would require filler wire with traditional MiG/TiG systems, thus reducing processing costs for customers.
