We are excited to be running ILAS 2025 on 26th and 27th March 2025, at which we will present five AILU awards at our Symposium Dinner. If you are, or your company/institution is, a member of AILU you have the chance to make a nomination in any or all of the five categories listed below.
The awards for ILAS 2025 are as follows:
- AILU FELLOWSHIP AWARD. This award recognises an individual AILU member who has made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the industrial use of lasers. Members cannot nominate themselves.
- AILU INNOVATION (INDIVIDUAL) AWARD. This will be presented to an individual (from academia or from industry) who has had a significant involvement in developing a new method, application, device or product that has enabled a significant advance in laser or applications technology. Members can nominate themselves or someone else.
- AILU INNOVATION (TEAM) AWARD. This will be presented to an organisation (from academia or from industry) where the team has developed a new method, application, device or product that has enabled a significant advance in laser or applications technology. Members can nominate themselves or someone else.
- AILU LASER TRANSITION AWARD. This will be presented to and individual, team, or organisation that has successfully navigated the transition from traditional manufacturing techniques to laser material processing. This award celebrates practical achievements in adopting laser-based methods to improve efficiency, quality, or sustainability in production processes. This is a new award which will be awarded for the first time at ILAS 2025. Members can nominate themselves or someone else.
- AILU RISING STAR AWARD. This award is designed to help encourage people in the early stages of their career to develop their interests in laser technology and applications. The award is presented to an individual for a significant piece of work, which has led to real or potential economic gain for the parent organisation and that preferably has wider benefit for the industrial laser use community. Members cannot nominate themselves.
