Luxinar’s LXR® ultrashort pulse laser platform unveiled

Luxinar will unveil its LXR® ultrashort pulse (USP) laser platform and showcase its CO2 laser sources at MECSPE, Bologna, Italy, 6 to 8 March 2024.

LXR® USP platform – a robust design for powerful processing

Luxinar’s LXR® USP platform features 24/7 operation readiness, a robust design for powerful processing and highly modular architecture to match customer needs.  Features comprise:

  • Pulse energy up to 160µJ
  • Power up to 160W
  • Beam quality M2 < 1.2
  • Pulse width 800fs – factory set available up to 12ps
  • Wavelengths of 1030nm, 515nm and 343nm
  • Full digital control of pulse output
  • Standard burst and fast-burst modes
  • Burst energy up to 0,8mJ

The LXR® series platform provides customers with advanced digital control over laser pulse output, switching effortlessly between standard, burst and fast-burst modes to meet the diverse requirements of production applications. Its hardware and software interface ensure seamless integration into production lines, simplifying the programming of operational parameters and enabling precise synchronisation of laser emissions.

Sealed CO2 laser sources – firm favourites for many industrial applications

The OEM series of CO2 lasers with a power range up to 1000W represents a compact solution for easy integration into industrial processing production lines with and without outer covers. The range includes an integrated RF power supply, enabling the laser to produce short optical pulses with high peak power or quasi-CW output and safe operation over a wide range of pulse widths and frequencies, including through the acoustic regions and a broad range of coolant temperatures. There is also the option for an absorbing thin film reflector (ATFR) to prevent back reflection.

The SR AOM series, with powers up to 150W, is designed to address a wide range of high-precision applications that require a reduced heat-affected zone, such as multilayer thin film cutting for the display market and high resolution/speed marking. This CO2 laser with an integrated acousto-optic modulator creates optical rise and fall times of less than 1µs that can minimise unnecessary heat energy from typical pulse rise/fall times of approximately 60µs.

The SR series of sealed CO2 laser sources have a power range of up to 250W and a rating of IP66; this means they are ideal for the harshest industrial environments to ensure a high protection against water and dust ingress. The units have a compact and lightweight mechanical design, a simple DC power supply connection, an easy-to-understand control interface, and digital diagnostics with enhanced LED. The same output beam position allows for power upgrades with minimal design changes, and an integrated RF power supply that is replaceable in the field reduces production downtime.

Walter Gensabella, Luxinar’s Regional General Manager (Italy), explained: “We are thrilled to introduce our customer-centric LXR® platform at international manufacturing exhibition MECSPE. Luxinar’s USP lasers create avenues in fresh markets and applications requiring ultrahigh precision. They are also the ideal complement to our well-established CO2 lasers which are extensively used in diverse industrial sectors.”
