Professional laser engraving of watches with Trotec

Professional laser engraving of watches Michel Hofer founded OraTec in 1994 and has since worked with well-known and micro watch brands.

The Swiss company handles the design, technical development, production, final assembly, and dispatch to the end customer. Laser engraving has been used for years for professional material processing to implement even the most complex finishing requirements on watches and components.

OraTec processes high-quality materials. The noncontact laser machining process not only ensures maximum protection of the material but also enables the most intricate geometries. The Trotec SpeedMarker 700 can implement even the most demanding customer requirements, from prototypes to series production. This applies to traceability, finishing, and personalisation. The Trotec laser enables OraTec to engrave watches and watch components with data, names, numbers, characters, logos, and designs according to customer specifications.

Michel Hofer, founder & Managing Director of OraTec said, “Specific dials, hands or complex shapes on movement components can sometimes only be produced using a laser. With the laser, you have more options, for example in finishing, which you would otherwise not be able to achieve with traditional processes. The collaboration with Trotec was consistently positive – we were particularly impressed by the professional approach of the team on site and the high level of reliability in all phases of the project.”
